Other than Superman Returns, the Superman Ultimate Collection sounds like a great deal. I am very interested in Superman II The Richard Donner Cut

Just watched superman II the richard donner cut!!! it was amazing!!!!! chris reeve is a completely different superman almost than how he acted it in the original...It feels like every scene and line is different! I will only watch this version from now on... i cant tell you enough how good it was...it ended the way it was suppose to end - i wish and hope everyone looks it up and doesnt think they just used the same ending they did in Superman 1 because when he turns back time was suppose to be intended for superman 2 but they had no ending yet for 1 so they used that and thats why they made up the "kiss" to end number 2...if you havent seen it! BUY IT!

Uh, what DVD issue is Mister X referring to?

gamera23 • Nov 29, 2006, 07:30pm •
He's referring to the incorrect disc for SUPERMAN 3 being included in the ULTIMATE set. Thanks for the info, X. I'm sure it's just one of those things. Sometimes it's hard to tell one disc from another, especially the shiny side.

Gamera it's also Superman: The Movie Disc One. It's supposed to have the 5.1 audio as well as the original. Some sets have it some don't.

What we are doing is this: Disc One and Superman III are being replicated by the factory again with the correct versions. Disc One will have the 5.1 and III will be the Delxue Edition. Again, some sets have the correct versions so look carefully before you call.

Once replication is done, we will have a final decision on what we will do and call everyone back. PLEASE BE PATIENT.

The Superman set would be far more ultimate if it didn't include Superman 3 or 4. Supergirl has always been a guilty pleasure, so I'll accept that one.

I have to say I'm a little dissappointed with the deluxe editions of superman 3&4. I mean I was expecting the scenes that you only get to see if ever see the movie showing on regular television with commercials. Instead of including those scenes on the actual movie, they just placed in the special features part of the dvds. Some scenes I saw should've been considered deleted scenes, esp. the ones I saw on the Superman 4 disc, but why didn't they just piece the other scenes back into the movie. Like the beginning of Superman 3, when he first appeared, when he saves the guy in the car filled with water, they left the remaing footage with bank robber and lady with child in trouble. Or with Superman 4, their were some fight scenes that were not added with nuclear man, that can only see if the movie is on television..; well now on the dvd disc only in the deleted scene section. Not part of the actual movie. I mean what's the purpose of having movies on dvd vs vhs; when the don't include the footage that show on televsion also.. At least with the Richard Donner Cut, the deleted scenes kind of make sense. Considering the sequels storyline.

"What we are doing is this: Disc One and Superman III are being replicated by the factory again with the correct versions."

So, can we assume that the spankings have already been taken care of?
