Well, they took on horny teenagers and McLovin. Why not take on the apocalypse, right? The group behind Superbad are teaming for a new action-comedy aptly titled Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse. Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel will star as the headliners and the story is based on a comedy short by Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg as well as Jason Stone.

Rogen and Goldberg will write and produce the feature film.
Mandate president Nathan Kahane is executive producing alongside Stone and Baruchel. Mandate is aiming to shoot the film in 2009.

Plot Concept: Simple direct concept was passed along by the trades.
Two guys deal with the apocalypse.

Sounds like it has a lot of potential to be real funny. I can imagine how a situation like the Apocalypse could lead to a lot of insane going ons. It'd be a change from all the catastrophic "oh-ah" apocalyptical movies. Since 2012 is supposedly to some people when it's going to happen they should let the two characters actually be the same two cops from Superbad; those dudes were hilarious.

Oops, except for the other cop was Bill Hader. Anyway, they should do my idea. I forgot who Jay Baruchel is. Or maybe I never knew. Got to Google him I guess.

I was thinking the same thing when I was writing it, Mr. Jaw. But technically in Superbad, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera played Seth and Evan's childhood antics. Hill was Seth and Cera was Evan.

Seth Rogen and Bill Hader were only identified as Officers Slater and Michaels. No first names.

Still, it would have been amusing to see the same two cops dealing with the apocalypse. If they were even half as bad as they were in Superbad, the world is doomed!

Didn't I see this movie already?....Oh yeah it's called "dogma" and it sucked the first time! All that Last Sion crap ruined what could have been a very funny Jay & Silent Bob movie!

Dogma WAS a very very funny movie, not only that it had some good ideas about religion....about getting too hung up on it can be a bad thing,,,,plus Alanias Morrisette as god was awesome... I think these guys write some funny shit. I would be interested to see what they can do....Jay was the guy in knocked up with the Mohawk type hair and I think he was from Undeclared and Freeks and Geeeks also....He is also going to be in Tropic Thunder.

Dogma was funny as hell and ditto on the good ideas about religion. Rogen is everywhere these days. Ever since Knocked up , he`s really been a hot property. I`m looking forward to Zack & Miri make a Porno. The trailer looks funny as frak and E Banks is a supreme hottie who is actually really funny. Perfect combo!

Dogma had me tearing I loved that movie. As for this one? It got my interest going, so I am going to wait and see. I love how they are expanding the characters now and keep them going with even more crazy as adventures. :-)

I watched about twenty minutes of superbad and thought it was just that.

Dogma’s a well executed, great film with a lot of thought provoking ideas and is funny, funny shit. Not as thought provoking as, say Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, but a thought provoking film nonetheless!

I thought Superbad was pretty funny. Not as funny as the hype surrounding it but it still had me cracking up. This could be very funny and I look forward to it. And I agree that using the cops from Superbad would be pretty damn funny as well.

Love the funny.

Wait. Strike "thought provoking" re: J&SBSB and replace with "funny".

Dogma was the ultimate Kevin Smith movie. IMHO, it doesn't get any better than that.

Haven't seen Superbad yet. It didn't really grab me when I heard about it. I may have to get it just so I can understand all the pop culture references to it.
