As the saying goes, there's nothing quite like going back home. Such was the case for Superman this week from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel production taking place in Plano, Illinois. While we've had plenty of shots of the Kent farm over the past month, ZonCom Productions has revealed these latest shots which has the costumed superhero (Henry Cavill) coming back to the home where he crashed landed and found his adoptive parents, Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan (Kevin Costner). Check out the snapshots below and sound off with your thoughts.

Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013.

Damn, that cape is comically long. But sometimes in the comic it's comically long as well I guess. I bet the tail is dirty as hell by the end of the shoot.

 The cape length is absurd

That was his cape?  I thought it was the train to a red wedding dress.

Yeah, I must admit, the cape does look really long.

the cape looks long

The costume looks as if it's HEAVILY influenced by the work of Alex Ross.  He's arguably the best painter to handle DC comics subject matter in recent memory.  His capes are always long.  The "S" symbol on the chest is usually large like it is on this costume, and there's no corresponding yellow "S" on the cape.

He's Superman.  It's not as if he's going to trip over it.  Look up some shots of Ross's Superman, and I think you'll agree that his work represents all Superman should be.  I'm hoping this influence isn't just cosmetic.

I like the long cape, was never a fan of a short cape in the Reeve films. A long cape swishing around you as you walk adds gravitas - just ask Batman and Darth Vader.

Oh yeah, and Alex Ross is amazing, along with Gary Frank he is in my opinion the greatest Superman artist ever.

You know, I used to really get upset with how the costumes are represented in this movies.  Being a Spidey fan, I'm disgusted at how lame his Amazing Spiderman costume is.  But....  If I really look back at my comic collecting years, each new artist had a new take on the hero and his duds.  If I can accept Superman, Batman, X-men, Green Lantern (well, Lantern is pushing it, lol) I should try and accept Spidey if the movie is good.  God... this is gonna be hard.

I like the long cape.  I'm sure they'll make it look amazing on film.
