I didn't see the cape as overly long when I first looked at the images.  It was the vehicle parked upsidedown in the front room that caught my eye first.

Looks interesting.

The cape looks long, and no S?

@ Dazzler - See previous comments about Alex Ross art when he did his Supes run.

For me there is little to see here.  Moving along, will wait for a look at Zod.

I like the long cape. I hope it flows and whips alot.

Diggin' it, I like the long cape.

Ditto what scytheofluna said, always loved Alex Ross' work on DC and Marvel for that matter.  Great artist

Got no problems with cape. But as with many superhero movies they have different costume parts and capes being used depending on the needs of the shot. This could be for a medium shot of Supes from the waist up or from the back and a longer cape hangs just right.

Or it could just be a long ass cape. In either case it is always bad to judge a film from spy stills or videos shot from wrong angles. Under proper lighting and camera angle the look can be just right. Remember for Iron Man RDJ was hardly ever in the complete armor on set.

I just hope they have Superman on wires for his close up flying scenes. Superman Returns looked like a video game for most of the Superman flying shots.

As for the cape, in some of the comics the cape is long enough to cover two Supermen, the only thing that's always bugged me about the cape in general is in half the super fights in the comics some super villian ends up using the cape against him by grabbing him by it.

Nerd: "Well I gotta find something to bitch about, even if this movie is going to be awesome", "That Cape is too long, don't they even bother to respect the source material"

Also that house doesn't even look like a Kansas Farmhouse, it looks like a Missouri Farmhouse. This movie will fail

Higgy 8/22/2011 8:45:32 AM

Speaking of the house.  Why does it look so delapitated?  Couldn't they have spruced it up a bit?  I mean...Superman is their son, wouldn't you expect that their farm would be somewhat successful?  Just things I'm noticing.
