This looks badass!

The cat's been out of the bag for a while now, but Warner Bros has officially announced a September 29th release date for the animated crossover film 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies'. The PG-13 film will be available as a 2-disc Special Edition in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats.
'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' is based on the popular Jeph Loeb/Ed McGuinness comic series/graphic novel. Animation legend Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer. Michael Goguen (Justice League: The New Frontier) is supervising producer. Sam Liu (The Batman) is directing a script written by Stan Berkowitz (Justice League: The New Frontier).
In the film, United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a Kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his "partner in crime," Batman. Heroes and villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit help – to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.
The movie reunites the lead voices of Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor from 'Superman: The Animated Series' and 'Batman: The Animated Series'. Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown reprise their roles as Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor, respectively.
The Special Edition release comes with more than three hours of bonus material including:
Featurettes
The Blackest Night: Inside the DC Comics Event: Behind-the-scenes of BLACKEST NIGHT, the epic DC Super Hero event in which the dead shall rise.
A Test of Minds: Superman and Batman featurette with Jeph Loeb, giving viewers a fresh and revitalized look at the team-up of Superman and Batman working together despite their often competitive and challenging relationship.
“Dinner with DC: With Special Guest Kevin Conroy”: Reprising his role from Batman: The Animated Series, Kevin Conroy joins the crew for dinner to discuss their creative approach and what the Superman/Batman team-up means. The evening will be hosted by Voice Director Andrea Romano, Producer Bruce Timm and DC’s Gregory Noveck

Signed, Over-caffinated nerd-boy, LOL
LOL! Dude I just did the same thing Mikemc3!!! I kept getting the first Superman/Batman and the Johnny Depp PUblic Enemies movie. Damn those Netflix bastards!!
Superman: "Thanks. I couldn't have saved Lois without your help."
Batman: "I'm aware of that. "
I loved the Justice League series and one of my favorite parts was always the dynamic between the dark knight and the man of steel. Supermans distaste for Batmans methods & Batmans contempt for Supermans boy scout persona. And yet dispite this always a prevalent undercurrent of mutual respect. And here is a quote from New Frontier. Still the best line I've heard in a cartoon ever...
Batman: [to John Jones] And one other thing, I'm not sure what you are or where you come from. But my instincts tell me you're to be trusted. Make no mistake, I have a $70,000 sliver of a radioactive meteor to stop the one from Metropolis. All I need for you is a penny for a book of matches.
This looks 10 times better than the much-maligned Superman Doomsday, which was released almost 2 years ago. The character model for Superman in that looked weird, with the odd cheek bone lines.
And the voice cast? Perfection. Clancy Brown should have been considered for the live action Returns a few years back too, IMHO. Daly and Conroy own those roles.
Nah, Clancy Brown doesn't look the way he did when he played Kurgan, just like Kevin Conroy doesn't look the same way he did when he was on Tour of Duty. Neither one could physically play the roles today, that their voices can.
Why do I only ever hear bad things about the Superman Doomsday vid? It told a solid story, had some great action, and the voice acting was decent.
DC seems to be upping their animated feature dvd's output, which is cool by me since they pretty much rule the format. Marvel is good but they're not up to DC's standards yet.
The special edition looks like it's worth the extra bucks, I always buy the SE anyway when available
