without spoiling the episode, i believe what happened with the end with dean is character growth plain and simple. what happened to him in purgatory and befriending a vampire has made him question alot of his core principles as a hunter. One of the changes we see with dean is his decision making process. not everything is balck and white for him anymore. And i think its great that we see his character finally evolving after 8 years...  great episode!

The found footage thing was an interesting deviation, but suffered from the found footage issue from all these flicks. You see none of the stuff you're interested in (Sam, Dean and demons), and get a bunch of charisma-free "actors" in shakycam with no focus.

"There have been a few standout films but most seem like a feeble attempt to cover up poor filmmaking. "

That is how it felt for me exactly. The character developments for Sam and Dean were good. But the third person found footage with this random characters was terrible. I did not care about them at all in the slightest. If they lived or died did not matter. So far this season has been pretty good but this one was the weak link for sure.

Yeah, I didn't care too much for this one either...the character growth was nice to see, but I'm also not a fan of the found footage thing - besides, Supernatural already perfected it back in season 3 with the "Ghostfacers" episode.  I really wish those guys would make another appearance before it's over.
