Solid review, Tim. I completely agree that Season Six was the weakest one so far. I also completely agree that it's about the best genre show that is available right now. I would give the season a B, rather than a B-, but only because some of the individual episodes were really good, and the writers managed to take a hard left in the last 3 episodes and really end things on a cliffhanger that was better than some previous seasons' endings.
I often wonder what the show would be like if Joss Whedon ran it. Besides Fox trying to cancel it immediately, I mean.
Yes, I know Supernatural isn't on Fox, but we all know that between it being a great genre show and Whedon running it, Fox would try to cancel it anyway. They have some sort of manifesto that would require them to try, I think.
I was really worried after the first episode of the season, but it got much better really quickly. Sorry, but I HATED the premiere of season 6...LOVED The French Mistake though...the scene where Sam and Dean are trying to act like Jared and Jenson acting like Sam and Dean?...priceless. The only way it could have been better was if Eric Kripke actually played himself.
"Hey, at least they're talking."
Definetly The French Mistake was one of my favorites for season 6, great humor, season six did start weak but got better and ended great, Supernatural has grown a lot and what i have seen of season 7 its going to be a great season.
Season 7 kicks ass! Season six not so much but it did get better as it got near the end of the season.
Season 7 makes me glad that they kept going. Cthulhu!!! Leviathans are Cthulhu beasts. Cthulhu is going to eat Sam and Dean's minds. SWEET!
While I agree that season six didn't have as strong an arc plot as previous seasons I don't think that hurt the individual episodes. I didn't see any episodes that I thought were particurlarly bad.
