Rob Liefeld has sold the book rights to Alan Moore-scripted runs of the titles SUPREME and YOUNGBLOOD in a three-book deal with independent graphic novel house Checker Book Publishing Group.
Checker has scheduled the first collection under the new agreement, SUPREME: THE STORY OF THE YEAR, for November publication - featuring a cover painted by Alex Ross.
Moore took over the writing duties on Supreme with its 41st issue in 1996. THE STORY OF THE YEAR is notable for its clever use of perfectly rendered flashback homages to comics eras past.
"We're extremely pleased to be putting our imprint on the work of Alan Moore," says Checker publisher Mark Thompson. "We were overjoyed to publish Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman and Chuck Dixon already, and this just rounds out a tremendous first year for Checker."
Earlier this week, Checker announced a November publication of ALIEN LEGION: PIECEMAKER, a 212-page trade paperback. This is Checker's second in a planned series of three collections of the ALIEN LEGION comic which was produced by Epic Comics from 1987 to 1991.
