What They Say
It's Honoka's birthday, and Yamato wants to find the perfect gift. Since Yamato is absolutely clueless about shopping for a girl, he recruits the reluctant Suzuka to help him. But Yamato's plan unexpectedly backfires when Honoka catches a glimpse of Yamato and Suzuka shopping together. Now the jealous Honoka is convinced that Yamato still has feelings for Suzuka. Will Honoka forgive Yamato, or could this be the end of their tumultuous relationship?

The Review
What happened to the nipples? Now all we have is a bitchy girl playing a major role in a high school soap opera.

Lack of nudity aside, this volume sees things changing up quite a bit. Honoka just can't shake the feeling that in Yamato's heart, she will always be second to Suzuka. It doesn't help that Yamato is always talking about Suzuka, especially when he seems so enthusiastic. Clueless, yes, Yamato is about as dumb as they come. However, if he is always thinking about Suzuka, then he shouldn't be leading Honoka on. So even after Yamato tries to give Honoka a nice birthday present, she has to put her dignity first and kick him to the curb.

Now Yamato is free to do what he wants, so he should be happy. Then again, being dumped is never easy, so he is stuck in a funk. Maybe his buddy Yasunobu can cheer him up? No, that guy isn't exactly a suave ladies man. Well, maybe the girls next door, Saotome and Megumi can give him something to be happy about? No, they just get drunk at his place and eat his snacks, which would lead to a great time if this was an ero-manga. Alas, Yamato is just going to have to turn to Suzuka, which should be easy since she's been so nice to him lately. No, that doesn't work either.

I have not really had much of a problem with Suzuka's attitude through this series. However, this volume has pushed me a little closer to the 'Suzuka Haters' camp. I mean come on, she liked Yamato while he was dating Honoka, but now he is single, she's pissed at him again. Sure, she might feel bad about being the cause of Yamato and Honoka's breakup and Yamato did say some stupid stuff. Even with all that, she should just pull the stick out of her butt and give the guy a chance.

On the flipside, Yamato should accept the fact that Suzuka is mean to him. If he only paid attention to anything but himself, he would see that Suzuka's smoking hot red-headed friend Miki really likes him. She is also on the track team, cute, and full of energy. Plus, she is always checking up on him and helping him with everything from his friendships to his track practices. Plus, she isn't a push over like Honoka. All those things and all Yamato can think about is how Suzuka is angry at him. What a dingdong.
