Liked Super 8 better than remake of apes. They should have given it to Thor or Captain America if talking last year.

100% agree Dazzler, many, many more sci-fi movies were better the the reimagining of Apes (it is not a prequel, live with it).
I like the Saturn, it's more specific to what we love unlike the Oscars where the odd nomination will come but this, it's all what we like as geeks (only thing missing is comic nominations but then you have the Eisner awards but still).
I couldn't take Super 8; too predictable, and the ending absolutely sucked. JJ didn't deserve that one. Apes was well made.
And really: MI-GP beat out both Captain America and Thor for Action/Adventure????
GIVE ME A BREAK, SATURN.
I liked Planet of the Apes better than Super 8. Apes actually seemed fresher origin (imho) than Super 8 which seemed highly derivative of much of Spielburg's work or things he had a hand in (E.T., Goonies, Close Encounters, etc.).
Atlas Shrugged part One wins an award for Best DVD/BD Release? Does this just mean that it has loads of extras or something, or is it because of the hillarious cover description of, "Ayn Rand’s timeless novel of courage and self-sacrifice" that resulting in every copy being recalled?
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a great movie, 100 times better than the original and 1000 times better than the Marky Mark remake. Serkis is the most underappreciated actors working today and I think what he did in ROTPOTA trumps his portrayal of King Kong and Gollum. It's a shame he hasn't won an Oscar. Maybe Cruise's movie won because he is big news right now due to his divorce and scientology. I've heard of the Saturn Awards, but the Cruise win probably was a grab at publicity for a lesser known awards show. The only thing worth watching in Ghost Protocol is Paula Patton. I didn't watch Take Shelter, I thought about it, but after reading the synopsis decided not too.
Planet of the apes deserved it's awards. Super 8 was also good though so glad they got some love.
Agree on the Apes over Super 8 win. I absolutely love that film. And I'm just curious as to how it is you don't consider it a prequel Jedi? The entire plot occurs before the events of the original. Isn't that by definition a prequel? Just wondering.
I'll come right out and say it, not sure if I've ever heard of the Saturn awards...seems as though they specialize in genre entertainment though...so where the hell is Game of Thrones? Or did they just win too many Emmys, Golden Globes, and People's Choice awards?
