I thought it was a show that actually IMPROVED in its second season. Whereas "Heroes" ended its first year and had no idea where to go, "Alphas" deepened the characters and showed where their abilities were detrimental to their own health and mental well being. The relationship between Straithern and his Machiavellian opponent was interestingly played out, and there was emotional and physical loss to the cast. It was a dark season but yes, I liked it quite a bit.

Sadly, it seems Syfy is only interested in producing its horribly cheap creature features (Sharktopus 3, Global Armageddon Volcano Meteor), importing programming from Canada/Europe,  and no longer cares to create quality shows of its own. Alas "Battlestar Galactica," where have you gone?

Saw the first episode. A "Heroes" ripoff. Thought it had been cancelled after first season!!!

That really is too bad.  It was one of SyFy's only quality shows.

 Maybe just maybe, Blood an...nevermind.

I agree, it went from an alpha of the week to a deeper darker show with David Straitharn's character starting to cross the fine line into obsession. I will really miss the show, I'm very disappointed it's gone..

If you like Alphas, then check out Misfits on Hulu. It has a crazy take on superpowers. Really fun show.

now with this gone they can bring back Eureka.

I REALLY enjoyed Eureka, but I honestly don't want it back.  It was really fun, honestly never really great, and it ran it's course and had a really good finale, I thought.  I'd rather it rest being entertaining and good than they try to bring it back with lackluster results.

As for Syfy, come on...I think it was CaptainAmerica04 that made me want to say this...Syfy tv shows and mini-series are MUCH better than their original movies.  Be fair.

I also enjoy Warehouse 13 and Face Off...wish I could have gotten in on the ground floor with more shows, but oh well.  And I won't really miss Alphas either...lost me during the first season.
