i hate syfy now. ever since the name change.

Just a month or so after Syfy dropped the cancellation axe down on Caprica--the prequel to their popular series Battlestar Galactica---the network has also canceled "Stargate Universe." Channel spokesman confirmed the decision to not renew the SGU for a third go, with plans to air the remaining 10 episodes sometime next Spring. It also means that for the first time in quite a long time, there won't be any "Stargate" entity on the genre channel. Franchise producers and the network have enjoyed a relationship that has been strong after "Stargate SG-1" (1997-2007) and "Stargate: Atlantis" (2004-2009).
With Caprica and Stargate Universe officially gone, Syfy will be focusing their future on upcoming series "Being Human," "Alphas" and the BSG prequel movie/pilot "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome." The network also has returning shows "Warehouse 13," "Eureka" and "Haven."
Thanks to gutsmgee ,ninjaBam,Bryzarro for the submission.
I saw this coming when Stargate Universe first aired. I couldn't get into the whole ongoing soap opera feel.
Someone had told me that they had cancelled Eureka. I guess that's not true. Given the choice I'd rather have Eureka than SG:U.
But Haven really sucks.
I liked Being Human well enough from the BBC version but to be honest it wasn't interesting enough for me to search out. I cringe at the thought of an Americanized version.
What... It took them this long? SGU is quite terrible indeed. Hope SyFy's decision does not raze the plans for the third SG1 movie.
As long as they give the show finalization to it's story I'm fine with this. But, I know I'm one of the few that actually like it. It's funny when Sy-Fy first premiered as The Sci-Fi Channel... there where an abundant of actual Sci-Fi Shows... Lexx, Farscape, Sliders & Stargate SG1 that were able to remain for a course of time.Sy-Fy seems to drop most shows now in a heartbeat. I miss my Sci-Fi Channel with the FTL Newsfeed!
I took me half the first season to get into it. I really liked this season and am really disappointed to see it gone. I guess it didn't have the legs. My guess is because it wasn't a "Traditional" Stargate show like SG1 and Atlantis. I liked the serious tone to the series.
I was thinking it would fail, but I do enjoy the series, it's too bad, hope they wrap the series up also.
I really like SGU I hope they at least wrap up the storyline.
