Syfy has announced its Summer 2012 slate, which includes the series finale of Eureka, the returns of Warehouse 13 and Alphas, and a new night for Lost Girl.

After five seasons, Eureka will sign off July 16 at 9/8c. Warehouse 13 and Alphas will kick off their fourth and second go-arounds, respectively, July 23 at 9 and 10 pm.

Meanwhile, Lost Girl, which is currently airing its second season Stateside, will shift to Fridays at 10, beginning July 20.

The cabler’s other returning fare includes Haunted Collector (back June 6 at 9 pm), Destination Truth (July 10 at 8 pm), Paranormal Witness (Aug. 8 at 10 pm) and Face Off (Aug. 21 at 9 pm).

New entries include the viral video commentary series Insane or Inspired? (premiering May 25 at 10/9c), the haunted campuses reality show School Spirits (June 20 at 10 pm, from producer Mark Burnett) and Paranormal Highway (July 10 at 10 pm), in which Jack Osbourne and his friend Dana Workman investigate spooky activity along America’s remote back roads.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

I am so ready for Alphas to be back on.

Really enjoying Lost Girl. Great writing, great characters, and a perfect blend of mythology, action, comic relief, and sexual tension. Looking forward to another season.

Little disappointed in the overabundance of reality programs SYFY is churning out, especially all these shows dealing with ghosts and hauntings. It's too much. Too many cable networks are running reality programs about ghosts and haunting and paranormal investigators. Give it a rest already. Maybe SYFY needs to back to the well and start showing re-runs of classic Sci-fi series and movies instead of the mindless crap they put on.

Oh and before I forget..WRESTLING??? I'm sorry but what the hell does Wrestling have to do with Sci-Fi?? Somebody looked the other way, while someone got paid to put  wrestling on the channel.

I'm with you Moz.  I have no love for the paranormal "reality" shows and I cannot understand why SyFy seems to think they should run all-day multishow marathons of them.  "Did you feel that chill?  Was that a ghost?"  No, it was a 900 year old abandoned scottish castle at 2 in the morning, get some coffee and a sweater!

On a similar note I'd like to know why SpikeTV keeps showing all-day marathons on the history of American outlaw streetgangs every friday.  All that does is give me a good reason to see what's on the other channels.

And while I am as big a wrestling fan as you can get (professional wrestling history is a particular passion of mine), putting it on a channel supposedly dedicated to science fiction and fantasy programs seems extremely odd.  The sole reason it's there is for the Bottom Line.  WWE programming is a major cash-cow and I assume the serious revenue it brings helps placate the SyFy Execs programming issues.

As far as the "wrestling" aspect... Just give it time. Vince McMahon will scrape up funds for a channel all his own eventually. The forthcoming WWE channel will have plenty of stuff to broadcast and stay alive, given the treasure trove of their massive archive. Syfy is just a stepping stone. Brave it out.

If McMahon does create his own channel, I hope to see repeats of WWF Wrestlemania and the one WWF program that was occasionally aired on NBC on either Friday or Saturday, can't remember the name of it, but it usually opened with Animotion's Obsession. Anyone remember?? You member...

Release, I kind of doubt the WWE Channel will ever see the light of day. McMahons success rate in ventures beyond the WWE itself has never been that great (World Bodybuilding League, the XFL, at least half of the WWE Film releases are direct-to-video) and from what I've heard he's having trouble finding partners to share the costs or cable outlets to run the channel. The debut date has been pushed back repeatedly and right now is TBA. For the foreseeable future Raw and Smackdown will be remaining on USA and its affiliates.
