Atari Games has announced a fall release for TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, a single-player and online multi-player first-person shooter for the PC. Set in the dark future where John Connor's forces fight against SkyNet and its Terminators, the T3 game will offer both multi-player and single player storylines.
In the single player game players will be a T-800 Terminator (voiced by the movie's star, Arnold Schwarzenegger). You'll be fighting against the humans at the start of the campaign but once you're captured by Connor's troops, you'll be reprogrammed and switch sides to stand against SkyNet. Locations include war ravaged post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, a ruined ocean harbor, partially destroyed highways and Tech Com or SkyNet bases.
The multi-player campaign will let gamers choose sides and play as one of eight classes for either the human Tech Com or machine Terminator sides, including the option to play as hunter-killer tanks and aircraft. Each race will have their own unique assets and liabilities and a range of weapons to select from. Up to 32 players can play on any one game server.
A console-based T3 game is also in development and due out this fall. Unlike the PC game, the console game follows the storyline from the third film and features material shot specifically by T3 director Jonathan Mostow for the game's storyline.
