On Thursday, Nov. 21, the Sci-Fi Channel and genre giant Steven Spielberg co-hosted the Los Angeles premiere of TAKEN at the Writer's Guild of America in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Set to debut on December 2, TAKEN is a 20-hour miniseries that weaves together the stories of three families over multiple generations and their crucial roles in the history of alien abductions. Offering Spielberg a rather large canvas of airtime to work with, the executive producer takes the "American mythology" of alien abduction to new levels.
Stars of the miniseries, as well as invited guests, were treated to both a screening of the second episode ("Jacob and Jesse" directed by Breck Eisner) and a reception. Seen at the party were writer/producer Leslie Bohem, Julie Benz (Kate Keys), Anton Yelchin (Jacob Clarke), Joel Gretsch (Capt. Owen Crawford), Ryan Hurst (Tom Clarke) Anne Crawford (Tina Holmes), Dakota Fanning (Allie Keys), Tobe Hooper (director episode one, "Beyond the Stars") and Jeff Woolnough (director episode eight, "Dropping the Dishes"). Also in attendance were John Kassar (The Cryptkeeper), Claudette Roche (STARHUNTER), Ellen Dubin (LEXX), Brian Henson (Henson Productions), Gigi Edgely and Claudia Black (FARSCAPE).
