Progress continues on Steven Spielberg's alien abduction TV series, TAKEN. The original SCI FI cable channel TV series will be starting up production in September in Vancouver.
The 10-part, 20-hour series will star Steve Burton, Julie Benz (ANGEL) and Joel Gretsch (THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE), with more cast to be announced later.
The series will tell the three-generation story of a family and its history of being abducted by aliens. Burton will play a World War II fighter pilot who encounters Foo Fighters, that era's name for UFOs, over the skies of a war ravaged Germany. Benz will play his wife, who is forced into raising their child almost alone while her husband must deal with his abduction experiences.
Gretsch is set to play an unscrupulous Army officer who witnesses the Roswell incident and attempts to take advantage of the situation for himself.
The cabler currently has TAKEN scheduled to hit the tube in the fourth quarter of 2002.
