Famed horror authors Stephen King and Peter Straub collaborated to write
THE TALISMAN a couple decades ago, and that's when Stephen Spielberg picked up the film rights. Now the film has gone through two directors in the last couple months.
First Vadim Perelman (
HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) took off, and now Ed Zwick (
THE LAST SAMURAI) has left. Zwick felt that the script -- originally by Ehren Kruger (
THE RING) and rewriten by several other writers -- wasn't in shape to shoot this July. Or September. Or October. And so now they're rewriting a script with no director attached.
