Famed horror authors Stephen King and Peter Straub collaborated to write THE TALISMAN a couple decades ago, and that's when Stephen Spielberg picked up the film rights. Now the film has gone through two directors in the last couple months.

First Vadim Perelman (HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) took off, and now Ed Zwick (THE LAST SAMURAI) has left. Zwick felt that the script -- originally by Ehren Kruger (THE RING) and rewriten by several other writers -- wasn't in shape to shoot this July. Or September. Or October. And so now they're rewriting a script with no director attached.
