Talking About Golgo 13

Viz Media's release of the Golgo 13 is causing some bit of confusion among readers and we wanted to help clarify a bit since it's not readily apparent by the first volume released. Golgo 13 has something like 137 volumes released in Japan since it first started coming out. Viz Media's release is set at thirteen volumes of seemingly random stories from the 137 volumes. What the 13 volume series actually is made up of is the "Authors Selection of the "Best 13 of Golgo 13" that came out a few years back. These were stories that are obviously favorites of the author and were made into two bound volumes of 1300 pages each. If these go over, there is hope among Golgo 13 fans that the "Readers' Choice, another two volume compilation of 13 stories chosen by readers, will come out as well. Considering the low popularity level of a title like Golgo 13 and the sheer amount of the manga that's out there, being able to get essentially 26 six volumes out of the 137 is a pretty big feat.
