Things are finally starting to heat up on the 20th JAMES BOND movie with word that MGM now has a strong candidate to direct the film. According to Variety, that helmer is New Zealand director Lee Tamahori, whose films include ONCE WERE WARRIORS and ALONG CAME A SPIDER.
Formal negotiations with the helmer are expected to start over the next few weeks.
Current plans are for BOND 20 to ramp up production in early 2002, with the finished effort hitting screens in November 2002. As expected, Pierce Brosnan will be taking on the 007 role for the fourth time.
