The first teaser has appeared online for the Jessica Alba starring horror film, THE EYE, courtesy of Yahoo Trailers & Clips. This is a remake of the 2003 Hong Kong horror film by the same name and it stars Jessica Alba, Parker Posey, Alessandro Nivola, Tamlyn Tomita and Chloe Moretz. It was directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud but another director Patrick Lassier was brought into the project for some reshoots in early August. The horror film was produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner with Mike Elliott, Don Granger and Michelle Manning serving as executive producer.

Plot Concept: Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola) helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen (Parker Posey), Sydney learns to see again.

But Sydney's happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney's mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney's family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

Pplllpppt! (fart sound) whatever...

She sure is pretty, but for some reason, I'm really starting to dislike Jessica Alba - the actress.

She seems kinda lame. At the same time I'd sell my soul to the Devil himself for a piece of that sweet, sweet ass.

But I digress.....

I've seen the Hong Kong version a couple of years ago and after seeing that teaser, it seems pretty much the same as the original (with updated graphics).

I'm not sure how you can judge her acting from that clip, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. I like the fact that she's trying to get a variety of genres.

I like the cinematography so far. My main fear is that the movie had three directors (including reshoots). Eep.

Jessica Alba minus Dane Cook? I'm there. Besides I rarely see these foreign movies because the American remkes are usually better. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

LOL..the clip was a silent movie..with no words and not sure how one can come to any conclusions on her acting in this...lol...anyway...IT looks interesting (no pun intended) but I would like to see the original first......Most of the time US screws up remakes of good movies made in other parts of the world

@Wiseguy562

It's been my experience that that's only the case half of the time. For example, the American remake of The Ring is better than it's Japanese original, Ringu (or at least IMO). But the Japanese version of The Grudge (aka Ju-On) will forever be superior to the piece of crap that Sarah Michele Gellar was in.

I have the original Hong Kong "The Eye" on DVD and it's one my favorite films. I'll go see this just to see what they've done with it but most likely they'll screw it up.

By the way ... if anyone is interested, the trailer for "One Missed Call" which is another Asian-Horror remake is online at http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/onemissedcall/hd/

I think "The Eye" looks better (no pun intended).

This doesn't seem the have the same creepiness the original Korean one did...there just seems to be something lacking; does anyone else think that?!
