TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES no match for studio apathy

It looks like another comeback of a 1980s genre icon, this time THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, is having a harder go of it than recent returns like G.I. JOE and THE TRANSFORMERS.
Word from the Toon Zone website has it the film, a planned CGI return of the heroes on the half shell to be guided to the big screen by none other than John Woo, has been shelved because of lackluster studio interest.
This news comes from Dan Berger, who runs the official MUTANT TURTLE website, so he ought to know. Damn it. But supposedly the new animated series is still going full, and is set to hit TV screens early next year.
