Viper being in The Wolverine doesn't mean she can't be in S.H.I.E.L.D.  It all depends on what deal was worked out.  Are they exclusive rights? Do they apply to television as well a movies? Did they just pay for the right to use her, but don't "own" the rights?  My son watches Super Hero Squad which has X Men, Avengers, and FF characters.

Exciting news! Now if we can just crowbar Spider-Man and X-Men from Fox's steely fingers.

Seeing Blade in a future episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be awesome. I hope Marvel signs Wesley. I'm rooting for him after his prison stint. I saw Dirty Laundry. Never been a fan of Punisher, but I liked Tom Jane's movie and I always thought that Punisher appearances should be in doses (like the Hulk in Avengers). That may also be a good formula for Ghost Rider- minus Nic Cage. No offense, Nic.

Simon Williams would be cool.

Matt Murdock as an attorney.

So nobody thinks Mockingbird is the logical chocie? Joss had stated that he wanted to veer away from super power individuals on the show. The budget would be immense. Why not bring on characters who are just skilled fighters. We could also mention Silver Sable, Elektra, the other Black Widow and even the Punisher. These characters can be brought on at minimal expense.

Again, Hero's For Hire. Cage is just bullet proof and strong as hell so that is easy to do. Iron Fist is basically the same deal, just all Kung-Fu. They could then either spin it off into their own show or into a movie.

It will be interesting to see the direction this series goes in.  Airing in prime time on a national network me thinks it won't go hardcore comic book, but I could be wrong.

My guess is you won't be seeing spiderwoman running around in a skintight red spandex cat suit and mask.

In order for this show to succeed they are going to need strong support from casual fans (people who have never purchased or read a comic).

Heroes was on a national network and got decent ratings in the beginning despite  locking horns with Monday Night football. It featured characters with super powers.  Heroes went dark and edgy and a little sexy. Maybe that's how they'll play this...or maybe they'll put it in an 8 PM time slot...play it lighter and try to capture some of the pre-teen audience who were escorted to movie theatres by their parents to see The Avengers and Iron Man 3.

I agree with 10-6, not sure about the rest.  Just too comic booky for my tastes.

I think Snipes is too old to play Blade now.  Have you seen him in any of his recent films?  The guy's 50 now and has lost all of his bulk and physical definition.  Not saying he could not get in shape again but at this point I think you need a younger actor.  Yes I thought about Mockingbird and she would probably be #11 on the list.

the skrulls would not be allowed due to them being part of the ff and fox owning the movie rights. though maybe the tv rights could have them show up on shield. deathlock and taskmaster would be cool. espically the reveal of task master being a sleeper agent for shield. spider woman , interesting. she hulk may be a big gun and marvel may not want to use for just tv. modock would be interesting to see live action . and no doubt hydra and aim should appear some time during the serious run. given their history

I'm all up for Yvonne for Carol Danvers and Charisma for Jessica Drew. I think they would fill out the uniforms or costumes perfectly, and they were both agents before becoming superheroes. It'd be a great way to tie them into the Avengers 2 movie too. Introducing characters this way means they'd be ready for the Avengers when RDJ and the others finish their contracts. Get She-hulk to replace Hulk, Captain Marvel to replace Tony Stark, and so on. You could even do their origins in the lead up to the movie to get people pumped.
