Man! How early do you guys get up??

Anyway, just wanted to comment on Blade Runner. Beautiful cinematography, great performances, intriguing story, a little slow in my opinion, but one thing has always bugged me about that film. Deckard was supposed to be such a hot shot Blade Runner and yet, I think the only fight he ever won outright, without help and prior to getting his butt kicked, was against Zhora, whom he shot in the back. I’d have been a little more impressed with his defeat at the hands of Roy if he’d had a few more clear-cut successes to show off why he was the best.

Sorry. Not sure if that should affect it’s Oscar worthiness, but it just seemed like a glaring “writing-101” mistake for an otherwise impressive film. I personally don’t consider it the greatest sci-fi film of all time as I’ve read that some do. JMO.

I'm a Keanu fan and won't stand for all these insults :)

I think Keanu is a good actor. The fact that he is different makes him great IMO. Not all the people I've met in life act the same, some have very strange ways and mannerisms so why wouldn't roles in films.

I'd see just about anything with Keanu and outside his Ted and Bill films I think I may have. I'm also looking forward to his Man of Tai Chi and 47 Ronin

Point Break and The River's Edge were good Keanu movies. Give the guy a break.

"Moon" wasn't nominated because Sony never submitted it for consideration. Sony cited 'piracy concerns' as the reason why they never submitted the movie to the Academy. The real reason was that Jones owned the rights to pretty much everything in the movie (since Sony had no faith in it to begin with), and all the sales of DVDs went straight to Jones' pocket. So rather than back a movie that would make them no money in DVD sales, they shit-canned it by screwing the nomination.

Wise, with those comments about Keanu you just totally destroyed any credibility you had to stand against The Dark Knight!

I think Keanu has been genius in getting cast in good movies, because the dude just can not act. From a personal level, I know that he's a really great guy and cares about people, so my theory is that his success is from the Law of Compensation taking care of him.

ElBaz, I'll give you The River's Edge... that's it. Okay, I'll tell you another GREAT early Keanu movie is Permanent Record, he honestly gives a fantastic acting performance in that film.

 Point Break is awesome!

Capt: Do any of you have something interesting to tell me?

Johhny Utah:  I caught my first tube today sir.

I couldn't stand The River's Edge, but I know plenty of people who like it.  Could be one of those instances where people told, me "If you like (this), then you'll love The River's Edge"...the (this) in that equation was "Stand By Me"...sorry, I'd rather watch Will Wheaton suck at acting and blame it on youth than watch Keanu suck at acting.

The only difference between Keanu and the guy from "Avatar" is this:  Keanu HAS been in some great movies.  And Wise, you NEVER saw the Bill and Ted movies?!  How have you gotten this far in life?! :)

The Dark Knight Rises got snubbed.  Tosh agrees with me.  "Amour?  Fuck you."

SarcasticCaveman 2/21/2013 9:23:03 AM

I honestly don't think The Dark Knight Rises got snubbed....I thought it was definitel the weakest of the series.  Cool that Tosh agrees with you though.

Remember when they said Keanu married David Geffen?  Wtf was that about?
