 Can't wait!

Not at all surprising to hear, but good to have an official confirmation just the same.  Now the question is, will this be a past version of The Doctor and Rose, or will this be the mortal man version of The Doctor alongside Rose from Pete's World?

RobertTrate 3/30/2013 10:50:42 AM

I'm guessing the Mortal Version, more at stake f he is human.

Rob, That universe was locked. SO more likely it wlll be like "The Three Doctoes", "The Five Doctors" or "The Two Doctors" classic special stories where the several different Docs were drawn through time to fight a super bad monster/villain.  Then again the could all be in separate events but linked to one story. Then again you could well be correct Rob.

Wrrlykam, how many times has the Pete's World universe been "locked" at this point?  At least twice that I know of off the top of my head.  When it comes to other universes, there is always an out.  Back during the classic era of Doctor Who there were several stories revolving around CVEs (charged vacuum emboitments) which were basically wormholes to other universes.  The CVE leading to the universe known as E-Space was stabilized to the point where it could never be closed again.  It is likely that still more exist, since their purpose is to prevent the entropic death of our universe.  The Time Lords were still around back then, and they tended to frown upon the end of the universe in those days.

The downside for Matt is that Tennant is so superior to him as the Doctor that it might be a distraction.  People could say..."Oh, we have been giving this wanker a pass from all the good will generated by brilliant number 10.  Can he reginerate back into a previous Doctor?"

This is the first time I actually was ready for a Doctor to say goodbye...and take his bloody bow tie with him.

Wyldstaar, as I said Rob could still be right. I think the main 'lock' is that RTD left and that universe was his era baby. Moff hasn't touched any RTD's stuff since TEOT. He seems to have made a near clean break from it.

Great news, especially since Tennant was previously stating that no one had contacted him about it as well as Martha and Capt. Jack confirming via twit-space that they would not be in the 50th anniversary special.

Am I the only one here who noticed a connection when the Doctor asked Clara who gave her the phone number that Clara replied, "Oh, the lady down at the shop gave it to me."

Rose mentioned in a past episodem, "I'm back working at the shop."

Coincidence? Hmm...by the looks of this announcement, I think not!

Interesting thought there GothicStorm. Has the outside phone ever been used since it rang in the Moffatt stories Empty Child and The Doctor Dances?
