Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is no more in regards to the name of the next installment. Warner Bros. is now calling it Untitled Terminator Project. The upcoming trilogy will star Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as a new character named Marcus in the war against the machines. McG is set to direct the first installment of the new trilogy, based on a screenplay by Michael Ferris and John Brancato.

Plot Summary: While the plot has twists and turns that are being kept under tight wraps, Worthington will play the role of Marcus, a central figure in a three-picture arc that begins after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. A group of survivors led by John Connor (Christian Bale) struggles to keep the machines from finishing the job.

The film will hit theaters May 22, 2009.

What I like about what's being said here is that McG is directing the first movie of the three and that there might be a possibility for a different director to come in and take control, naturally this could have a bad side effect if this does happen, like with what happened with the last X-men movie...I don't know, I might be reading to much into the article and if the first movie is good and does really well then there will be no need to bring in a different director, will see...

Hmm...what should they call it? Just gonna toss out a few.

1. Terminator: Dead World
2. Terminator: Machine Wars or War Against
the Machines
3. Terminator: Dark Crisis
4. T-4: Terminal (T4T)
5. Terminator: Armada
6. Terminator: Warzone

Terminator 4: The Present Continues
Thank the Maker. That was a silly title.

IRaith I'm onna assume the last 2 titles were jokes? I can't stomach the idea of it being compared to that horrendous Transformers cartoon which was slightly better than PIGFORMERS,

Anyone else have a problem with the titles just being TERMINATOR 4, TERMINATOR 5 & TERMINATOR 6?

I could go for:
TERMINATOR:FATE
TERMINATOR:WHAT WE MAKE
TERMINATOR:HUMANITY RETURNS
TERMINATOR:DAY OF THE CREATOR
TERMINATOR:HUMANITY'S REVENGE
TERMINATOR 2029 (year shown at the opening of the first film)

Now if they would just drop the director that would make this a better movie.

I was under the impression that McG was handling the trilogy, so this is news to me. I don't know that I like the idea of different directors if it's one long story as opposed to three different ones.
As for the title, which I don't think will make a differece but then again I don't do any market research into this kind of thing so what do I know. How about
Terminator-Rise of the Humans or Last Stand

Return of the Son of Terminator 4
Terminator Electric Bugaloo: This Time it's Serious!
Terminator 4: Terminate Harder!

again a sequel without any of the original actors, writers or director...this should be called Terminator: we haven't milked the franchise enough....or .. Terminator: we will remake soon if this movie don't work...

joeybaloney,

LOVE IT!!! Didn't we discuss a while back how silly "The Future Begins" was as a title?

Personally I think the title should just be "Terminator Salvation." I don't think calling this film Terminator 4 would work because it takes place both before and after the original trilogy, if that makes any logical sense.

Hmmm... Takes place before and after the original trilogy... Then a perfect name would be "Terminator: Before the day after yesterday"
