Collider.com caught up Terry Crews (The Expendables) and addressed a lot of internet chatter and rumors on whether or not he was in the running for Marvel’s Luke Cage. Now Luke Cage is one of the 4 different mini series that will air on Netflix for Marvel. The cool thing about these four character driven mini series is that they will culminate in yet another series called The Defenders. The characters featured here on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. All four of them have close personal ties to one another and cross pollination for the characters is a certainty. Crews comes into the mix because he is an ideal choice for Luke Cage. Below is excerpts from the interview with Collider.com.

Choice Quotes:
“Anything can happen.  All I know is scheduling and all that stuff—anything can happen.  I’m open to all kinds of things, but who knows?  Actually I took myself out of the Luke Cage running a while back, just because it was people trying to put people against each other.  [It was] Idris vs. Michael Jai and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, this is not even greenlit!  Can we talk to Marvel?  Why are you talking to me? Don’t put me against my homeboy for a movie that’s not existing.’  I said, ‘Take me out!’

“I heard [it’s greenlit] but I haven’t gotten any calls.  I’ve been hearing stuff like, ‘oh you’re too old,’ and I’m like, ‘Man do my workout 20 years ago and we’ll talk about who’s too old (laughs).’”

“Like I said, anything can happen, I never rule anything out.  I’m game.  There are no rules.  What’s up, Marvel?  I’m right here, baby.  I ain’t goin nowhere. You know where I live!” (laughs)

What do you think Maniacs? Is he too obvious of a choice? Who would you rather see?

Crews, Michael Jai White, Tyrese. I think all of them are some good candidates. Idris Elba doesn't seem right. I don't think of him as an all muscle superhero. He'd be a great Black Panther candidate. And.......................dare I say it for fear of the casting color attack? He'd be a great Dr. Strange.

Terry Crews would be perfect.

As long as it's not Speed Stick goofy Terry Crews; otherwise a good casting choice.

He has the looks and build, but does he have the acting chops. I've usually seen him in comedies.

Funnily enough, the other "Old Spice Guy", Isaiah Mustafa, was campaigning for the role some time ago.

Actually,  I always saw him as Green Lantern. I think I've seen him play gruff and serious before. I can't think of the role, though.

I've seen him in the Expendable movies and  it seems to me he can do action movies. I'd love to see it I think he'd be a great Cage

What no Jaden Smith?

I dunno about Crewes, he certainly has the physique, but the more serious his roles get, the sillier he seems to me.  He is outstanding in different levels of comedy, but face it, in the Expendables movies, he is what passes for comic relief, not the ice-cold action hero.  It really depends on the tone the series sets, and, IMO the chemistry between Luke Cage and whoever plays Danny Rand.  Those two characters demand a really strong buddy-picture vibe which, with the right casting, could really help the show.

@jimvo99 LOL!  I usually get chuckles at best from these posts but your gets a full-on belly laugh.  You just know after Garfield finishes his trilogy, they're gonna be shopping for a new Peter Parker, and you can guess whose Daddy is going to try to get him that juicy morsel.
