Wow!  Surprised they up the nominations for Game of Thrones, although how exactly Dany got a nomination and Charles Dance did not, is beyond me!

Nothing for Walking Dead? Seriously???

Yeah, mad that Walking Dead gets anything.

Also mad that actress Tatiana Maslany of the show Orphan Black didn't get nominated.

All hail Tywin Lannister!!

ripum853 7/18/2013 11:41:49 AM

No Jaime Lannister neither :'-(  I was hoping it was his year to get in.

But at least more acting talent was recognized than just Dinklage, finally!!  Sure, Fairley might've been more deserving, but I loved Emilia Clarke this season, and I'm still glad she got in, and I think it's deserved (even if there are more women on the show more deserving).

I'm very glad Rigg got in, but it seems that everyone is riding the Jane Fonda horse, so the nom is probably Rigg's only victory.

The """Experts""" have it as a three horse race between Breaking Bad, Homeland, and Game of Thrones, as they're the only shows that really improved from last year with total nominations and added acting nominations.  Homeland had a weaker season, but I still really see it as a two horse race between that and Breaking Bad.  Mad Men is slowly going downhill year by year.

Hard for any actor / actress to stand out in GoT appearing for 10 minutes every other episode.  It's more of an ensemble effort.  That said in my opinion Nikolaj Coster-Waldau seemed more deserving of a nomination this season than Dinklage.

Agree with ripum853 that Homeland's second season was weaker than the first.  If I were voting I'd pick Breaking Bad as the best Drama but i wouldn't be shocked if GoT won.

Dexter a series which has gone on way to long has really slipped...unless I missed something I didn't see a single nomination (the way things are progressing this season Jennifer Carpenter may get one in 2014).

Didn't expect Walking Dead to get nominated for anything...though I watch it religiously I've always thought it was more "Cool" than "Good."
