So when Halloween (Zombie Version) came out I posted my review and made a comment on someone else's review and then washed my hands of it. What I didn't know about was the heated debate that followed between three Maniacs. Check out the Halloween review and the onslaught that followed http://www.mania.com/member-reviews/55870/256.html
So words get exchanged (typed back and fourth) with some monster paragraphs and passion for the love of movies. Awesome. I love to sit and talk about films and see what other people like or hate about them. As great as this site is, can we take it to another level? Is that possible? A Mania convention? A Mania meeting of the Maniacs? What I would like to propose is that Maniacs get together and we all meet face to face.
Where? When?
Comic Con would be ideal. It is months away. I'm sure most of us are planning to go there. I would like to meet thecollector, Merin, Daforce, michaelxaviermaelstrom, swansong....

We even talked about a massive get together but it would definitely require planning, money on everyone's parts, etc..
Basically, because everyone is spread across the nation..the globe..It's proven impossible to have a massive meet-up with our many regulars.
But I've always liked the idea of having a massive meetup at something like the Comic-Con in California one of these days.
I know I missed out on some parties by fellow news editors this past summer.
Where are you based out of? Daforce, Bill and quite a few others are in California so they would be in that area...
We have a lot of people from the Forum community over on the East coast as well and they've met a few times the past few years.
Great idea and we've tried...It's just that the logistics of it seems to be a nightmare for some.
