It was only a matter time before we had a Doctor Who/ Star Wars crossover. Well this week fans of both will get to see the tenth Doctor guest star in not one but three episodes. Here is the official press release from Lucasfilm. Hopefully, this will put Tennant on the radar for the next trilogy in the Star Wars universe.
The Official Press release: David Tennant, best known as the tenth doctor to play The Doctor on the hit series Doctor Who, will make his Star Wars: The Clone Wars debut this week in “A Test of Strength,” airing Saturday, November 10th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.
Tennant will voice the character Huyang, a droid who greatly impacts the journey of a group of young Jedi, who were just setting out to build their first lightsabers in last week’s episode.  The famed actor will continue to appear in the series for the following two episodes, “Bound for Rescue” and “A Necessary Strength.”
“When I heard the Doctor himself, David Tennant, was a fan of Star Wars I knew I had to find a way to get in contact with him to see if he would perform on Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” said Dave Filoni, Supervising Director, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. “The result was ‘Huyang,’ an ancient droid in the service of the Jedi Order, whose sole task in life has been overseeing the construction of lightsabers. I thought David was perfect for the part and he did not disappoint. He delivered a performance which impressed even the Master himself, George Lucas.”

Here are two clips from the up coming episode. Tennant appears as Huyang in the second clip.

So when you say Doctor Who is joining Star Wars, the Doctor isn't really joining Star Wars. I get the feeling that this is exactly the reason why David Tennant left the series. As much as he loved the role and was proud of the work Tennant doesn't want to spend the rest of his career being known for just that one thing. No actor would. I think this article focuses too much on calling attention to that role

That said this sounds good, I look forward to seeing the episodes, and possibly even Tennant in Episode 7,

FerretJohn, I agree with you. Tennant left the show because he said he would have played him forever. So he had to move on as an actor.

In my business it is all ablout tag lines as well.

They always do this on this site. DOCTOR WHO TO STAR IN. . . .

Its a lil annoying and also demeaning to that actors career. Im pretty sure we all know who David Tennant is and if you don't the article has no relevance.

Not to mention the fact that "The Doctor" is now Matt Smith. . . Its been a few years since Tennant held the reins. MOST Who fans have moved on. . its time Mania does as well.

Is it just me, or does Huyang look a bit like a cyberman?
