Transformers making close to Avatar numbers? That's the funniest shit I have heard all day. Tranformers will rake in millions, to be sure, but nowhere near what Avatar did.

dalgoda & Pendragon0: Yes, Favreau seems to have improved the story a great deal over the graphic novel. I read the TPB and it wasn't the best, so I am excited to see what the movie will do. So far, it looks great.

wish: Odds are Wilde is the alien freedom fighter girl in disguise who is trying to help the humans against the invaders. There was a character like this in the TPB, but slightly different.

2 things.

1. I'm kind of glad this summer leaves us with Cowboys & Rise of the Planet of the Apes, ya know? Sure, not intended to be the most amazing huge kaboom blockbusters, but perfect saturday afternoon b flicks. Super 8 should have opened in late july/august, would have rocked.

2. Wise is right to mention T3 having the closest chance to Avatar numbers. First one made 3 hundy, seoncd one sucked and made 4 hundy. If this one is better than the 2nd and anywhere near the feel of the first, it could maybe crack 5 to 550 like TDK, but I don't know if it would drop 750 in here....but it does have a chance to make bank

hey madmanic999, i went to see AVATAR the weekend it came out, i was so exited, the trailers looked amazing, and i was totally shocked at how bad it was, i AM NOT hating cause its "cool" to hate it now. I walked out of the theatre at the end and told my Girlfriend that we just watched Dances with wolves, alllll screwed up.  the story was old, the acting was terrible, and the fact that they wanted "Unobtainium", just about the stupidest and most unimaginable thing ever.  Just to make it very clear.  I WENT TO SEE IT THE WEEKEND IT CAME OUT, IM NOT A STUPID HATER, I AM A VERY VERY INFORMED HATER, MAYBE EVEN THE FIRST ONE THAT HATED IT.

Tried to add a comment about the original script but think it was deleted for some reason. So once more... with feeling!

There's a 1989 script that the graphic novel heavily borrowed from and that has 2 pages on Facebook. Try Cowboys and Aliens Screenplay.

There's also another strangely similar comic that predates the GN by a few years called Wayout West.
