agree on the material caveman.  yes the book is shorter and simpler, but the details of the journey were glossed over, not a ton of description like tolkien gave in lotr.  so meeting the group, detail of their mission, backstory to what happened to the dwarves, setting off on the journey, running into the trolls, getting to rivendell, spending time there, into the misty mtns, running into the goblins, the encounter with gollum, which will be given much material with the success of andy serkis, the escape, wargs chasing, eagles rescuing, beorn, the spiders of mirkwood and their history (shelobs children), legolas and his group, the town of dale, smaug, the battle of five armies, the return...and fller to what gandalf did with his incounter with the necromancer aka sauron.   3 movies is fine with me.  details, details, details. in peter we trust.

hopefully no one reads your post wilde, if they haven't read the book as you just told the whole frickin story, lol

They've got to hire Viggo back to play Aragorn since his character plays a big part between Hobbit and Fellowship.

This seems like a dick move by WB. These films have done amazingly well in Dec but I think they just want to screw Fox's X film which was slated for the same date

ahhhh crap!  so true almost!  my bad, horribly!  i was on auto pilot trying to argue the point of a third film not being so bad, with jackson's ability to stick with the details.  i hang my head in shame...

i'm glad you put lol, though.  lol!
