This alien invasion will be televised

It's no surprise that one of the most eagerly anticipated video games in development is Sierra's HALF-LIFE 2. Ever since the first screenshots and video demos were published last year causing computer gamers to commence drooling, just about every wish list has this first-person action shooter on it. When part of the game's source code was stolen and leaked onto the internet last year, causing game developer Valve to delay the release of HALF-LIFE 2 from 2003 to 2004, the cries of sorrow could be heard over gaming chat rooms.
Which makes Sierra's latest HALF-LIFE 2 tease a good thing or an evil torture, depending on your ouytlook. The company has posted four new videos showing off the gameplay, and they're just as incredible as the earlier peeks have been. Download "Traptown" and see how interactive and revolutionary the game environment is: you can pick up and use just about everything that you see on your screen. All of the alien creatures from the first HALF-LIFE are back in the sequel plus plenty of other forms of nasty life, and the game's scope has been greatly expanded.
Here's the crummy part: no one's sure when HALF-LIFE 2 will finally reach stores. There's been some talk that it could be out this summer, but it's likely that Sierra will have some kind of ETA to announce at next month's E3 convention. For now these four new videos will have to do.
