You can see graphic novelist Steve Niles (30 DAYS OF NIGHT) and Thomas Jane (THE PUNISHER) posing for the camera here at the 2005 Comic Con. Well, Scifi Wire has published their upcoming slate for the new programming lineup and inside, they gave some details about an untitled mini series the two have have been collaborating on...

From Sci Fi Wire:

From Jane and comic-book author Niles (30 Days of Night) comes a new untitled miniseries about a space-shuttle pilot who becomes trapped on a newly discovered planet. I think this sounds good. I don't think it's original, but I think it could make a good mini-series.

No, I agree almost, this does sound cool, and actually I think it is pretty original

It'd be nice to see Jane work with a decent script.

Doesn't this sound like a direct take from the "John Carter of Mars" series of books?

Sounds like Medicine Man in Space, although I cant help think of Robert Hayes in Airplane when hes teaching the natives basketball.

I agree, this could be cool for both of them. I've been waiting for a decent mini-series since BSG (which was a mini-series originally). I hope they go epic with it though. Lot of potential there.

A comparison to Farscape wouldn't be too far off, either.
Regardless, I do like the space operas! Hope they get some traction on this project, and it proves to be very entertaining.

it could have an interesting arc to it....it also bears the question of what would you do....

I'm sure that there's some hottie on the planet he's digging on too....visually, it could be stimulating....definitely a good move for the Sci-Fi channel....
