Here is what Marvel Entertainment is call the OFFICIAL trailer for Thor: The Dark World. This has all the makings of an epic story. Hopefully, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston can deliver.
Synopsis: Marvel’s Thor: The Dark Worldcontinues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor andMarvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery “ #83 in August, 1962.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.

Yeah, it looks cool, but I need a good villian trailer that focuses more on Christopher Eccleston for me to be truly pumped for this.

LOVE IT. The Raiders of the Lost Ark bit at the end still works.

I really thought and still hope that Surtur is the big bad behind everything here.

Awesome! This looks good.

Not sure where the whole 'footage looks like an episode of Hercules" story came from. This looks like a big budget blockbuster.

You know how it goes.  The director announces that he is giving everyone a taste of the new movie, but they should bear in mind that it is unfinished footage.  The audience of course hears the first part of the sentence and cheers, which blocks out the second part of the sentence.  The director shows the footage and people think "Wow this is actual finished footage from the movie??  It looks like cheap tv effects".  And thus the rumor is born.
