Thornton Hunts LaBeouf in EAGLE EYE

Thespian Billy Bob Thornton has been cast in D.J Caruso's EAGLE EYE, says Variety. The actor will be joining Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan and Rosario Dawson in this thriller for Dreamworks. Daniel McDermott and Hillary Seitz both had a hand in developing the screenplay for Caruso, his next film after the success of Disturbia. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Pat Crowley and Ed McDonnell are producing.

Plot Concept: Story revolves around a slacker (LaBeouf) and a single mother (Monaghan) who are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to carry out a political assassination. Thornton will play a patriotic government employee who leads a homeland security team that tracks down the fugitives.

DJ Caruso had made some pretty good films before Disturbia, but none of them were really a hit, I like his movies. I am glad to see him getting noticed now. Eagle Eye has a good cast set, so I am anxious to see what they turn out.

i haven't kept up with the news on this project so maybe someone that knows can help me out.
is the single mother supposed to be the slacker's mother or are they unrelated characters?
I only ask cause Monaghan is like 10 years older than Labeouf, meaning if they are mother and son in the film, her character had sex a 9 years old. That's just weird.

hanso, from what I've read, Monaghan's character will be playing the single mother of a seven-year-old. Labeouf will be playing the kid's slacker father.

really? from the descriptions I've read up, it just seems like Shia has nothing to do with Monaghan's character in terms of fathering her child. He's just a random slacker and she's a single mom, their lives just happen to come together because of this plot. I mean, are they skewing his age older because if he fathered a seven year old kid, he would be fourteen when he did her.

Shia's character is supposed to be 30 years old, Michelle's is 28.

It's possible that Michelle's kid is not Shia's son, but that was a rumor I heard. But I think we can safely rule out that Shia is not going to be playing Michelle's kid.
