Three clips have appeared online for In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, courtesy of Youtube. The Uwe Boll-directed film, based on the best selling game, stars Jason Statham, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Ray Liotta, Matthew Lillard, Burt Reynolds, Will Sanderson, Ron Perlman, Claire Forlani, Brian J. White, Kristanna Loken and Gabrielle Rose. The flick for Freestyle Releasing was penned to screenplay by Doug Taylor, Jason Rappaport and Dan Stroncak. Freestyle plans to debut the film this weekend in 3,000+ theaters.

Plot Summary: A simple family man (Jason Statham) is forced to take up arms after an evil sorcerer (Ray Liotta) unleashes an army of bloodthirsty beasts that destroy his small village and capture his beautiful wife (Claire Forlani). As the marauding forces overrun the land in an effort to overthrow the king (Burt Reynolds) and his loyal magus (John Rhys-Davies), the once peace-loving peasant and his two companions (Ron Perlman and Will Sanderson) venture into perilous, uncharted terrain on a daring rescue mission. In this breathtaking fantasy adventure, director Uwe Boll conjures up a medieval world filled with royal treachery, dark magic and spectacular battles, all set against some of the most awe-inspiring vistas ever captured on film.

Here's the clips...

Talk about cheesy. This however actually looks funnier than First Sunday. I'll probably go see it first hand though. I usually have some downtime on Fridays.
Does Boll make any movies not based on video games? And I'm surprised C.Loken is still acting. After her last couple of efforts I would've thought that she would turn to porn if she couldn't come back as the Terminatrix.

Uwe Boll should stand for "Boll of Crap". He is the WORST director in the business. He is a pretty good boxer though, even though he whipped on a bunch of geeks. He should just quit directing and go home to Germany!

Jarrod, I now officially hate you.
Why would you post this crap? Seriously. WHY?!
Blah blah don't shoot the messenger...blah blah...fuck that. That's just evil posting that crap. EVIL, I TELL YOU!

wiseguy... thats K. Loken not C. Loken.
its hard to fathom the John Ryes Davies accepted this movie over Indiana Jones IV, wasnt He offered the part of Salla again?

I laughed while reading the press description at the "breathtaking fantasy adventure" part. A Uwe Boll film "breathtaking"? That would be the methane fumes seeping out of the film...

His movies do seem to be slightly improving each year (VERY slightly!), but after spending the money to see House of the Dead during full price admission...I vowed to never again give one of his crap films a single dime. And thanks to the internet, I haven't. :) Aarrrgh...Matey!

why did anyone think that making a movie of the game would be good?

i really enjoy the game, but it is just hack and slash.

but this is crap and trash.

and how did Statham and Davies ever get messed up in this?

I just went and IMDB'd Uwe Boll. I've seen him mentioned on here quite a bit, but I had never heard of him, so I went to check him out. Now I know why I've never heard of him...I DON'T GENERALLY WATCH CRAP. Did anybody think "Bloodrayne" looked good? How about "Alone in the Dark"? I know, I know, some of you will go see movies because the video games are cool...maybe you should just stop it. You would probably still be calling the guy a joke and hack, but I wonder if anybody on here would hate the guy as much as you do if you had never given him your time?

That said, how DID Jason Statham and John Rhys Davies get mixed into this? I know it's a paycheck, but come on. And Ray Liotta...you should be ASHAMED of yourself! You were in "Goodfellas" for Christsake!

I hate Boll as much as the next guy, but I may see this just because Jason Statham is awesome. So is Ron Pearlman. Ray Liotta too! How in the hell can Boll assemble such cast? I just don't get it.

I actually had no clue this was a Boll movie until I saw this story. Of course, I've never heard of the video game. If I had known it was a game I think I would have put 2 and 2 together.

Hey ultrazilla2000, when they said the film was breathtaking they actually ment you'll want to hang your self after watching it. Is it me or does this movie look like a lost episode of Hercules. Except Hercules was directed and Edited by people who knew what they are doing. Although the rope scene was stightly entertaining.

WOW I never actually thought this film would see the light of day as it was probably don shooting 2 years ago. Hell i think he made bloodrayne 2 after this. Anyways I remember reading here Boll wanted to make this a 2 part "epic" anyone know if thats still the case. Just thinking that the world will never see part 2.
