Three new TV spots for the upcoming I AM LEGEND film appeared online today courtesy of IKlipz. The Warner Bros. film, based on the best-selling Richard Matheson, stars Will Smith, Alice Braga, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Willow Smith and Charlie Tahan. Francis Lawrence directed the screenplay written by scribes Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman. As a reminder, the IMAX edition of this film will also feature a 5-minute Joker prologue for Warner Bros. DARK KNIGHT.

Plot Concept: Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world.

I know Smith is not a huge fan favorite here, but when a guy makes so many movies and more than half range from "really good" to "you gotta see that", ya kinda gotta start to give him a little respect. Anywho, I am really impressed with what I have seen so far, and with the rumor about the joker in IMAX, I am down like the American dollar.

I'll have to wait for the Joker prologue to hit the web or they include it on regular screenings.
As for Smith, he is the black Tom Cruise. Everything they touch seems to turn into gold. I can't wait for this movie, Joker prologue or not.

Movie looks great, very excited to see this as well as the Joker prologue.

Ugh, Will Smith is not the black Tom Cruise because Smith can act.

Will Smith is our generation's Jimmy Stewart. He always kind of plays himself (or at least uses the same mannerisms), but with great affect. He can do thriller/action, comedy, love stories, and thematic films - all with charisma and believability.

I am a big fan of Will Smith. I think he is a very talented actor and will continue to improve. He began basically playing himself in Fresh Prince, but the longer he goes, the more he stretches. I'm sure he will always come back to his base character to make the big bucks, but will continue to expand his repertoire in between the blockbusters.

I loved this book as a kid and from what i have seen they have tried to keep to the core of the story. Not many Will Smith movies I don't like, so this should be a great flick - wonder how it will do in the box office though with so many other sci-fi & action flicks coming put around the same time (AVP-Requim, National Treasure as examples)?

Yeah, the Tom Cruise analogy IS apt because like Cruise he's always playing someone with skills and intelligence I can't believe he actually could ever have.

Cruise as an F-14 pilot in "Top Gun" or Smith as a Hornet pilot in "ID4"? Pull my other leg!

Here he's a 'brilliant scientist' gettin' all up in some science an' shiat? Gonna kick some virus' punk ass? Negro please!

This generations Jimmy Stewart? Hardly. That distinction belongs to exclusively to Tom Hanks. Will Smith is the guy studios call when Denzel's line is busy. Next your gonna tell us Robin Williams is a great "character actor"

I compare him to Jimmy Stewart because Jimmy Stewart did a lot of crappy fluff in between great films (and some of his greats weren't appreciated at the time of release).

Tom Hanks is in a class by himself. He can't be compared to old actors because he's more than an actor.

I think people are talking more about their box office track records which for both actors are pretty consistant. Tom cruise is way more of an ass clown than Smith, but he has been around for alot longer. I did used to like Tom Cruise but I am sad to say that he did totally blow it with his rediculous persona. Valkrye and Lions for Lambs may be great but I wouldnt know cause Im not going to watch either of them. I will be there for Legend.
