Three RINGS Circuit

The legend created by J.R.R. Tolkien in his classic LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy has finally been turned into a live-action feature an undertaking that required a movie production of nothing less than colossal proportions. The mythos, landscapes and creatures created by the author are so extraordinary that it took more than four decades for special effects technology to reach the level of sophistication necessary to bring them to life.
At the forefront of the production were director Peter Jackson and the crew from the New Zealand-based physical effects workshop WETA. Under the direction of supervisor Richard Taylor, WETA focused on making Middle-earth a reality, bringing to life every hobbit hole, interior, monstrous-looking creature and fully functional weapon. Clearly a mammoth undertaking, it was one the workshop was eager to tackle.
