Three TV Spots for DARK KNIGHT

By: Jarrod Sarafin
Date: Friday, May 16, 2008

Three television spots have popped up for the upcoming Dark Knight over the past week, the latest third spot appearing online this morning. I'll put them down below for you Maniacs. The sequel to Batman Begins, again directed by Christopher Nolan, stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Nolan wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan.

Plot Summary: "The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan with star Christian Bale, who returns to continue Batman's war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

The Dark Knight will hit theaters July 18, 2008.

Barely any new footage but that's a good thing. Can't wait for this flick.

I saw TV Spot #1 last night during Smallville and ER. But something about it really caught my attention. You see Batman riding his motorcyle through a corridor. It looked very familiar, so I paused it to get a better look, only to see that it's actually a train station, the very same train station I go to all the time. I knew The Dark Knight filmed here in Chicago, but at the train station I commute to regularly? Now I definitely have to see the movie when it comes out.

This movie will own all. Just wish Heath would have been around to enjoy the silence of all his critics....

Honestly I'm still on an IronMan/Avengers frenzy to appreciate anything else yet. I am looking forward to this but IronMan is and probably will be the highlight of the year for me.
