Thrillers of Glass

Composer Philip Glass has some new scores lined up.
First, he is set to score Stephen Hopkins' THE REAPING, in which Hilary Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith and has since become a world-renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain what is happening and she must regain her faith to combat dark forces threatening the community. The film will open August 11th.
Next, Glass will score Neil Burger's latest Fantasy Adventure, THE ILLUSIONIST, where a magician in turn of the Century Vienna falls in love with a woman well above his social standing and uses his powers to win her back from a prince and undermine the stability of the royal house of Vienna. Inspired by the short story "Eisenheim the Illusionist" by Steven Millhauser, the movie will star Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell among others and its set for a Bull Eye Entertainment Contagious Entertainment release, sometime in 2006.
Finally, comes an as yet "Untitled Scott Hicks Film," Starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenny Wade, Patricia Clarkson, and Aaron Eckhart. Directed by Scot Hicks and written by Carol Fuchs with Sandra Nettelbeck, this movie is about the story of the life of a top chef (Zeta-Jones) who undergoes heavy changes when she becomes the guardian of her young niece. Currently filming, this 2006 feature comes from Castle Rock Entertainment Village Roadshow Pictures Inc, distributed by Warner Bros.
