A day after it was confirmed that Pierce Brosnan and Nicolas Cage were joining Roman Polanski's new thriller The Ghost, actress Tilda Swinton has also hopped on board. Author Robert Harris is co-penning the screenplay of his novel alongside director Polanski and production is set to begin in September in Europe.

Plot Concept:
Cage will play a ghostwriter hired abruptly to finish the memoirs of an ex-British prime minister after the first scribe turned up dead. The ghostwriter's research leads him to uncover skeletons in the politician's closet that put the writer's life in danger. Swinton will play the wife of the former prime minister (Brosnan). Her marriage is crumbling, and she falls for the writer.

If people had followed my lead and not went to the theaters to watch either of the National Treasures movies perhaps we wouldn't be subjected to so much Nic Cage. This guy fits a certain type of quirky role. But in general I think he sucks, lucky for him that some of his movies are so much fun and action packed that folk overlook his performances. I will however go see Bangkok Dangerous, see that's the king of film where his performance won't matter. You only care for the action and violence.

Remove the romance and add a deviant snuff film and wasn't this called 8MM starring ... who was that... tall, usally bad actor... oh yeah!...Nicholas Cage?! I'll add Family Man to the other two films (see previous article) in which I liked his acting. Bottom Line: Not interested.

Poor Nicholas Coppola. He hasn't made a decent flick since drinking himself to death in Vegas. So much potential, so little delivery. I did not part with any money to see the 2 National Borefest films. However, i do like The Rock, but that was probably more for Connery. In the previous week, he has turned Melbourne into a scene of the apocalypse for Alex Proyas' new flick Knowing, lots of chaotic people running around and burnt out cars on the streets. They closed half the city last Saturday. I don't have high hopes for that likely crapfest even though Proyas usually makes ok films.
Polanski does make thought provoking intersting films, although i will not be supporting the work of a child rapist. Maybe i'll download it.

This sounds pretty cool, and Swinton is a good actress. I'm on board.
