Burton's film stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Matt Lucas, Crispin Glover, Stephen Fry and Alan Rickman. Burton adapted the story from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton.

Plot Summary: Based on the Lewis Carroll classic "Alice in Wonderland," which will combine performance-capture imagery, currently seen in "Beowulf," with live-action footage. Disney released their classic animated version in 1951. Mia Wasikowska plays the title role of Alice while Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter fills the role of the wicked Queen of Hearts.

Alice in Wonderland will hit theaters March 5, 2010.

I'm a fan of Burton.... This looks sweet. A perfect movie for him.

Now let the Burton/ Depp team-up haters begin

I like that Burton and Depp colaborate so much. They make a great team.

And no one bitched about the Rat Pack doing a bunch of movies together, or Martin & Lewis.

Damn short attention span of whiny Americans today

The pic of the mad tea party scene looks exactly like ever other version of the mad tea party scene in every other flm version of Alice in Wonderland. His Alice fits the part but I have never heard of this actress so who knows if she can act?

That's because they didn't have the internet back then Gauley.

And people weren't little know-it-all bitches back then.

I expect a wildly divergent story here. The pic of the tea party shows the Cheshire Cat, which iirc was not at the party itself but before it and after. Also the Hatter has two 'scenes' in the book but with Depp's fame I fully expect him to tag along like the Scarecrow did with Dorothy. None of this is bad mind you as long as the Burton flair for weird holds up.

I seriously can't wait for this.  Burton movies are usually pretty great.  And Depp as Mad Hatter.  <3  I just can't wait for the Cheshire Cat.

I have always dug this story, and my first play I was ever in was playing the Madd Hatter in a high school play. it was cool. Now Depp playing the role is awesome. I just watched Sweeney Todd again the other day and the Depp/ Burton combo just always seems to get better and better.
