SPEED RACER - May 09, 2008 - 10:22pm
You know, I like this site, I really do. But I have to say, in the 4 years I've been reading this site (back when it was cinescape), the movie reviews you guys give really do miss the mark completely. Now I agree that speed racer sucks for the most part, it's a fast food movie (looks good but you get the shits afterwards). HOWEVER, Iron Man was great, and deserving an A, not a freaking B. I can't remember the last movie you guys even gave an A and for the life of me can't decipher your movie ranking method. I appreciate everything else this site offers, but just stop with the reviews because they don't make sense, they didn't 4 years ago and they still don't now.
Update: New KNIGHT Poster, Trailer Online Monday - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:56pm
Just hope this one doesn't have another stupid plot based on framing Batman to make him public enemy #1. Christ that one has been used up.
Brian Robbins and Eddie Murphy team for STARSHIP DAVE - Oct 17, 2006 - 07:07am
Hmmmmm......I believe this was called Innerspace years ago. So this is how this movie was created. Two writers in a room, watching "Innerspace" and one says to the other "You know what I liked most about Men in Black, those small aliens that smoked and drank coffee. What if we did a movie on just those aliens". Then the other writer says "Dude I forgot how great Innerspace was, hey, wait a minute, what if we got those aliens and put them inside the actor. Quick is Will Smith available". Quick call to an agent later......"We cant' have Smith, but Murphy is available." At which point the other writer replies "Ok, get Murphy, but now we have to use puppets instead of animation for the aliens."
Scorsese to take a break from Hollywood - Oct 16, 2006 - 07:08am
The greatest American film director, as said by most of hollywood, and he's never been given an oscar. Shows you how the Academy Awards are bullsh*t.
Jackman says WOLVERINE Script is set - Oct 16, 2006 - 07:06am
I'm with you browbeat. If I remember correctly, the same was said for Pearl Harbor. Ah hell, i'll see it though. I tell you what looks uhm..........interesting? Saw the Ghostrider trailer on the Grudge 2 movie this weekend. Might be a good popcorn movie, it's just, is it me, or has Nic Cage become a parody of himself?
Weekend Box Office Report: Got Grudge? - Oct 16, 2006 - 07:00am
Saw The Grudge 2 this weekend, was bored. A very predictable, formulaic horror movie. Get a creepy girl/doll/little boy, use a lot of fast cuts, jack up the volume on the annoying sound effects, throw in some lolita like panty/schoolgirl uniform shots and then use the Quenton Tarantino school of editing to try and add some spontenaity.
Trailer for BLOOD DIAMOND online - Oct 06, 2006 - 07:10am
You know DiCaprio is thinking "Maybe if I star beside Connelly, her Oscar glory will rub off on me. Oh, wait.......I starred in Titanic. Nevermind."
George Lucas talks animated STAR WARS TV show - Oct 06, 2006 - 07:05am
One more thing, if you ever go back and watch a GI Joe cartoon, the animation is so freakin terrible because they used 10 - 15 frames per second as opposed to the traditional 30 to cut costs. Voltron was the same way. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle, YOOOOOOOOOOOOO JOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
George Lucas talks animated STAR WARS TV show - Oct 06, 2006 - 07:02am
majorbludd, the reason studios don't go back to the traditonal animation (a la Transformers) is mainly because they want to attract today's generation. Granted adults watch them also, however not as much. We have jobs and some of us kids, and these distractions prevent us from watching continuously everyday. However, kids, and we did this too when we were young, will sit and watch and even know by the sound of the music on the credits of the show before the cartoon starts when their show will start. Also kids today probably wouldn't recognize what kind of car Bumblebee was or why Soundwave had "those cassette tape things" coming out of him. Oh, but this star wars will be computer animated, so it will probably be a once a week show.
Smallville Season 6 Premiere - Oct 03, 2006 - 07:52am
I would rather clark get it on with Chloe. I hate Lana. In fact, everyone hates Lana and you know why? Because I think every man has dated a woman like Lana before, the whiny, over-dramatic, constant attention wanting bitch who, no matter how hard you work, always blames you for something that is wrong in her life. Nothing is ever ok, there always has to be something wrong. Lana is the worst character EVER on TV and Kristin Kruek's "I'm an actress cause I look good" acting only compounds the problem. Kill the bitch off, have clark move to Metropolis already, and let Chloe get laid already.
Beau Garrett and Andre Braugher join FANTASTIC FOUR - Oct 03, 2006 - 07:42am
FF was a good popcorn movie, nothing more. I was entertained, but i'll be damned if i'll buy the DVD. Alba is hot, but that was "Marketing focused" casting call there. I thought everything else was decently close to the comics. Of course, I saw the never released FF, and let me tell you, THIS FF is Oscar gold compaired to THAT pile of sh_t!!!!!!
New poster for GHOST RIDER - Oct 03, 2006 - 07:35am
Cause nothing says female attraction better than fire, motorcycles, burning skulls and a chain whip..........wait............ok maybe the chain whip, giggity giggity giggity
Blade has been canceled - Oct 02, 2006 - 06:53am
What is it about vampires and women? Buffy was the same way. Are women mostly closet necrophilias?
Robert Downey Jr. is IRON MAN - Sep 29, 2006 - 07:24am
He's a good actor, and his movies "lately" have been really good and original. To me this signifies that Favreau is looking for ACTING and not the next cover boy of teen magazine. This is a good sign. The only problem I see is that now the Iron Man suit might have a white powder around the nostril area in some scenes. Be a good drinking game, see the powder, take a shot.
Wes Craven plans new horror film - Sep 28, 2006 - 07:47am
I have an idea for a horror movie. How about the story of a hollywood horror director who starts off creating original, disturbing classic horror movies that help define a genre. Then, as the years pass, the politics and business of Hollywood slowly deteriorate the directors talent and sanity, eventually leaving him a shell of a great man who can no longer create, and is left watching his past successes and determined to find his lost ability by remaking them.
New Bond song now online - Sep 28, 2006 - 07:41am
HOly hell, I would rather they picked Yanni to do the song than that trite. Well, at least when the song is playing, there will be naked women silhouettes dancing across the screen.
Microsoft and Peter Jackson team for next HALO game - Sep 28, 2006 - 07:33am
IF James Cameron helmed a FPS, it would probably be on the Titanic.......underwater........with a Celine Dion soundtrack. Oh god, just the thought makes me want to swallow 30 pain pills and then claim it was a reaction to supplements.
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Prequel clips online - Sep 27, 2006 - 07:09am
Madmanic999, do what i do, just ignore their exhistence and go to sleep every night holding your copy of the original snuff film looking Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I sleep very well while holding it close in my arms. Ahhhh, leatherface, grandpa, and that wheelchair dude who got carved up like and ice sculpture. Good times man, good times.
