I'm cool with both. Sure, neither is exactly a great film but they were both fun

A contagion of sequel-itis is traveling around the offices today at Warner Bros. Pictures, with Deadline New York reporting the studio is moving forward for sequels to both Clash of the Titans and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Mike Fleming at Deadline reports the studio and Legendary Pictures are moving ahead with a sequel to Clash of the Titans, hoping to get it into theaters as early as spring 2012. But they will make the journey without Louis Leterrier, who will not return for an encore as director. Sam Worthington will return, as well as most every other character that survived. Greg Berlanti will flesh out the story and the studio is already canvassing the agencies for a writer and director who can whip the movie into shape to shoot before Worthington makes Avatar 2.
At the same time, Warner Bros./New Line and Walden Media are putting together the sequel to Journey to the Center of The Earth, and sources said that Brendan Fraser is definitely teetering. The reason: the studio wants to make a fall, 2011 release date which would mean hiring another director to replace Eric Brevig, who's busy with another Warner Bros 3D film, Yogi Bear. Fraser wants to be loyal to Brevig and is resisting New Line's suggestion of filmmakers like Brad Peyton. New Line's alternative would be re-fashion the film around Josh Hutcherson, who played Fraser's character's son in the original film.
"Clash" has taken $388.8 million worldwide since opening earlier this month while "Journey" took down $241.9 million worldwide in 2008.

I actually like Journey to the center of the earth alot. and would like to see a sequel to it. didnt he show a book at the ending about atlantis? I havent seen clash of the titans yet because of all the negative reviews, but it made its money and I have a feeling that when I see it I will enjoy it anyways. So this news sounds A-OK with me.
No big surprise here I never saw these at theater so I will watch them all when they hit block buster
Clash I expected. However Journey is a bit of a supprise. I did enjoy it with my kid.
I saw Journey on Blu-Ray when it came out,,,and I have to say, I was blown away by the
"home" 3-D experience with that movie. The movie itsef wasn't great, but the 3-D blew my mind, we compared to Avatar, it suckes, but at the time it was crazy. I am cool with a 3-D sequel....haven't seen Clash yet, but I heard as long as you don't see it in 3-D, it's pretty good
I want to know why Letterier isn't coming back, especially since he seemed keen on making a sequel. Either the movie didn't turn out as good as the studio hoped or something else must've went down for him to be dismissed.
I saw Journey with my son and because of him I became a fan. I do like Brendan Fraiser so i'm down for a sequel. And yes he did give his nephew a book about Atlantis. It was a good escape movie and the 3-D was pretty decent.
The power of proper marketing. Because kick-ass was better than both of these movies. Head and shoulders.
Maybe Letterrier feels guilty about killing a classic movie like Clash of the Titans and doesn't want to destroy it even more.
Sequels for two bad movies?
