J. K. Rowling, creator of the HARRY POTTER books, in a 1999 CNN appearance
Our first indication that the title for J.K. Rowling's sixth HARRY POTTER
novel was being revealed hit our electronic shore late yesterday evening when an unusual email rolled in...
"My friend is a big Potter fan, and he was over my house. He went onto J.K Rowling's site (which I've gone on before but could never get into). Anyway he said he got in..and there was a brick wall that appeared. He said he clicked on it and the wall opened up and thier was a fan that apeared. He clicked on it and he said that it started up and then blew papers off a desk (of her's maybe?), and after all the papers were gone...it reveled this: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. (Now I'm not a huge potter fan but I do remember
that a half-blood is a muggle and a wizard or sumthin.) Anyway I didn't believe him (I wasn't in the room when he did this) but I just went on another site and their was a poster on a meesage board who posted the same thing. So I dont know if it is the title...but sure sounds like it."
Now we know how police officers feel when they get UFO sightings. In any case, shortly after receiving our first scoop about this subject the floodgates were opened. Now there were dozens of people all claiming to have seen the title for the sixth HARRY POTTER
book appear on Rowling's website.
A quick visit to www.jkrowling.com
and there, under the news section, Rowling herself confirms that she sneaked the title on her website yesterday. The author says that she has been using the title HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE
"in my head for ages and ages," and that further hints about the nature of book six will appear in the days to come on her website. "I shall tell you one thing without making you shift any bricks at all: the HBP is neither Harry nor Voldemort," Rowling adds. "And that's all I'm saying on THAT subject until the book's published."Got a scoop? Know something that you need to tell us about? Send it to us!
