TMNT Sequel On The Way?

Hey fellow Maniacs, it looks like a sequel to the latest TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles) movie is on the horizon. It certainly makes sense if it does happen. TMNT, even while going against WILD  HOGS and 300, raked in 54 million domestically and another 38 million overseas. With a budget of only 34 million, this means definite profit margins by the time the dvd hits the market.

Here's what Mirage Studio's Steve Murphy has wrote in his blog:

As of two weeks ago Imagi Entertainment (the TMNT movie animation studio) informed Mirage Studios that there was a 50-50 chance of a CGI film sequel. Last week they upped the odds to 70-30 in favor of a sequel, as talks between Imagi and their distribution partners Warner Brothers and the Weinstein Group seem to be heading in a positive direction...

I thought this a good return for the TMNT, it was very enjoyable, and had a good voice cast. So, this is no surprise,,,,,,,i'd pay to see another one.

I agree that this was a good movie...I would really like though if they go with live action, I always got a kick out of the live action movies and the CGI seems like a little too much...I will still go and see it regardless...

I hope they bring Shredder back for the next one. I liked him more than the villains of TMNT 1. If not him someone old school from the toons, maybe Slash or the Flyguy.

Let's bring back Beebop and Rocksteady...and their evil leader Krang! He would rock hardcore as a live action bad guy...if it were a live action movie like in my dreams...

i would love to see another one, and the new TMNT was cool as hell!

craig, there is a reason Bebop and Rocksteady havent been in the movie series to date. because the creators of the oringinal TMNT hate the characters, and if you are wondering "then why create the characters to begin with?" well ... they didnt! the duo was created for the original TMNT cartoon way back when. they were supposed to be in "secret of the ooze," but the creators fought tooth and nail to have the characters changed to look cooler, and be a little less, well stupid. so Tokka and Razar were born. i thought the characters could have been used effectively in the new film, but no ones else seemd to think so.

When this movie hits silver screens, so will I!

CGI is the way to go. Live action was good for the first movie only. It got too kiddie friendly for the next two after that.

I loved the last one and the ending really hyped me up for a sequel.

Live action for these types of characters is simply a death sentence...especially when Imagi has done such a great job with the first film.

I think a true live action TMNT should feature actual turtles with headbands. That would be cool.
