TNT Greenlights WITCHBLADE Series

TNT has given the greenlight to Warner Bros. television to produce a limited series based on the Witchblade TV movie. The cable network has ordered 11 episodes. Adapted by J.D. Zeik from the Top Cow book series, the Witchblade movie premiered in August and starred Yancy Bulter as Sara Pezzini, a tough New York police detective who discovered an ancient mystical weapon that she used to fight crime. Butler, David Chokachi, Eric Etebari, Anthony Cistaro and Will Yun Lee will reprise their roles for the series, which is slated for summer 2001. When the movie premiered, 3.5 million viewers tuned into Witchblade, making it the top TV movie during the week of Aug. 21-27.The Hollywood Reporter
