How to Make a Scratched Xbox 360 Video Game Work
OverviewXbox 360 is the newest gaming system from the makers of Microsoft. Xbox 360 games offer the user a state-of-the-art experience with more vivid graphics and smoother gameplay than were seen on their previous gaming consoles. One drawback of Xbox 360 games is that they can be quite expensive. With the fragile nature of a game disc, scratches to the game's surface can easily occur and prevent the game from playing properly. Instead of paying to replace the game with another copy, there is a simple process to remove scratches from Xbox 360 games so that they will work like new.
Step 1Place the scratched disc under running water. Remove the disc from the water and pat it dry. Do not wipe it dry or you could risk scratching it further. Placing the disc at an angle under a light, you should be able to clearly see where the disc is scratched and which are the most severe marks.
Step 2Spread toothpaste evenly across the bottom of the disc, making sure to use a circular motion where you identified the scratches. After the toothpaste is applied, spread peanut butter on top of the toothpaste.
Step 3Wipe the mixture off of the disc after letting it set for five to 10 minutes. Use a paper towel, napkin or a cloth that it not made of rigid material. When removing the mixture, go around the disc multiple times using a circular motion to buff out the scratches.
Step 4Repeat step 2 to reapply the toothpaste and peanut butter mixture to the bottom of the disc. Place the disc bottom side up in a Tupperware container, and pour half a can of diet soda on top of it. Sprinkle two tablespoons of baking soda on top of the diet soda and seal the Tupperware so that no air can get to the disc. Shake up the container so the liquid and baking soda mix together.
Step 5Take the disc out of the Tupperware after 5 to 10 minutes and buff it clean with a smooth cloth or paper towel. Again, use a circular motion to remove the mixture from the bottom of the disc. You should now see that the scratches have been removed. Allow the disc to dry fully before attempting to play it in your Xbox 360 console.
