Variety reported yesterday that Toby Kebbell has been cast as the Fantastic Four’s arch nemesis Dr. Doom. Now you might be think who? You’ll probably remember him best as Johnny Quid from Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla (2008). However, genre fans will probably recognize Kebbell from Prince of Persia, Wrath of the Titans, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Personally, I like this casting for Victor Von Doom. The last three films I mentioned above were by no means classics, but Kebbell stood out despite them being so dismal. Kebbell is currently filming Warcraft and will next been seen in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes this summer.

The Fantastic Four arrives June 19th, 2015.

Don't know him but he's as good as anybody else cast for the film. I'm not sure of the approach they are making on this film but instead of outraging my inner nerd I want to see how this turns out. I'm curious to see the first costume and set glimpses for this and the first trailer.

Is it me, or are they casting this movie like they would a CW series.

They announced this yesterday.

April Fools. Right? Right?

Eldogg42 4/2/2014 8:04:59 AM

I'm waiting for the whole movie to be announced that it's an April Fools joke

The actors are all wrong . O well we could just all decide not to go see it =)

Eldogg42 4/2/2014 9:41:07 AM

Jokers, this will actually be the first Marvel movie I will not see. (GR 2 doesn't count)  I don't think i'll even watch it when it comes to cable.  This just looks sooo bad.  And it hasn't even begun principal photography.

I stopped after Wolverine Origins. No more Fox support. And definitely won't support this crap.

I don't mind Sony and Spidey but Fox and FF and X-men. No thanks.

Eldogg42 4/2/2014 10:09:25 AM

I like the X-men too much to not watch the films, knowing they are not gonna be true to the comics, but hoping to be at least a good movie.... Still hoping.

I'd rather watch Green Lantern and Ghose Rider movies over this sorry a$$ reboot.
