According to Fangoria, Tobin Bell has signed on to star in the upcoming film from Ghost House Pictures titled Boogeyman 2.

"Brian's script is filled with scenes of outrageous terror that will redefine the 'Boogeyman' franchise," said Ghost House's Rob Taper.  "We are thrilled to introduce Jeff's vision for this to the horror crowd."

Bell will join Danielle Savre (Heroes), David Gallagher (7th Heaven), Michael Graziadei, Mae Whitman (Arrested Development), Johnny Simmons, Matthew Cohen and Chrissy Griffith in the cast.

Jeff Betancourt will direct the film from a script by Brian Sieve.

KJ's Take:  Boogeyman 2?  Ughhhhhh.

WHY?
Don't get me wrong Boogeyman had some serious atmosphear going, but nothing happened, and when something did happen.... nothing happened.... Boogeyman was just another log on the teeny bopper scare flick bonfire, and it burned up quick.... BLAAAAHHH

Why go from such a decent franchise like Saw, to this pile of steaming turd?

"...Redifine Boogyman's franchise"

Does one crappy movie and a planned sequel make a franchise now? Does that mean "Short Circuit" was a franchise? Gawd, I hate hollywood buzz words.

I loved the advertising campaign for Boogyman"...before Freddy, before Jason, etc;" and was a little hopeful for a nostalgic return to the '80s style slasher horror - but it never paid off. At all. It was worse than the late Nightmare on Elm Street sequels (New Nightmare not withstanding - it was pretty good). It was like an overly long, nonsensical, awful episode of Outer Limits.

Well, good luck Boogyman 2. You can't do much worse than the first.

The Boogeyman is a franchise without a movie!!! I was scared of the Boogeyman as a child and now my children have experienced it as well. It is a story that has been around far longer than that movie. I was partial to the concept in the movie where he transported through closets to other rooms in different homes, which I remember took place on the "Real Ghostbusters" cartoon as well with the Boogeyman. if they get the concept right in a film, it will definitely be a film franchise as well. The first was lackluster, and very remedial though. I was expecting to feel fear and I was not jerked by one moment. I did get my hopes up in the beginning with the dad in the closet. But after that it fizzed to nothingness.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did the opening of the movie "DARKNESS FALLS" make for a better "Boogeyman" than this whole movie did?

The Tooth Fairy was the Boogeyman's lil sister. Now that you mention it, those movies almost mirrored each other... hmmm

redefine the franchise? I wan't aware there was a boogeyman franchise to be redefined. If the movie's biggest star's resume includes 7th heaven and a made for tv richie rich movie, then I would warn Tobin to stay far away...

I don't know about everyone else, but I loved the scene where the crow crashed into the windshield. That was awesome! The movie was decent, but the ending ruined everything for me. Aweful, aweful, aweful.
